What you can learn from a Spider

How many people when they encounter a Spider just want to squish it.  However, in the teaching of the TAO, the spider is considered a perfect creature in nature. Once it spins its web, it does not think of expansion, it does not make war with its neighbors, it does not need to go on exploring. That which it encounters in life, it accepts and that which it does not encounter, it does not concern itself with. A spider is simply what it is and is content with that.  The picture above is a Garden Spider that has lived above my front door pond for the last 8 months. I have no desire to squish it, but when I come out of my front door to begin my day, I hope I can be a little more like this spider.
