Above is an image of a Squirrel gathering seeds from a birdfeeder. Squirrels are great at being a Pack Rat when it comes to food. They are a great example of being a Hoarder. I must admit I am a bit of a Pack Rat and Hoarder myself. I have trouble throwing things away because I ask myself the question "What If?" What if the next day I need it or what if in the next month I wished I did not throw it away. The funny thing is "What If" never comes and years later I wonder why I hung on to something. I believe our being a Pack Rat or a Hoarder is learned behavior. My mom was a Pack Rat and I never understood why she kepted some of the things she hung onto for so long. As I got older, I found myself with the same annoying trait. If you find yourself being a Pack Rat like our friend the Squirrel and me, you must look deep into the anxiety you feel and when you ask yourself the question What If, convince yourself that, that day will never come when you will need or use whatever your about to hang onto. If you throw or give it away, you have answered the What If Of Being A Pack Rat.
